I am aware that my great grandfather Tuahae Carroll at age, 23 married Peti Burch aged 21, the daughter of Mere Burch & Ben Burch. They were married at St Mary's Church, House of Te Kuri in 1910.

Tuahae Pohatu or Tuahae Carroll, he was a whangai to his aunt Heni Materoa and Timi Kara. Tuahae was born the son of Mauhana (nee Turoa) & Tiopira Pohatu. Mauhana is the first-cousin of Heni Materoa and the daughter of Heni Kotikoti & Raniera Turoa. The grandmother of Heni Materoa and Mauhana Pohatu is Te Rangi Maewa (also known as Pakete), Pakete can also whakapapa to Raniera Turoa . Tuahae is a confirmed whangai to Heni and Timi. His name on his enlistment to the Pioneer battalion and on all his war records is as Tuahae Carroll, his name on his death notices sent to Timi Kara & Heni Materoa are as Tuahae Carroll. His attendance at parliament as support from Wellington Boys College for his father James Carroll MP was as Tuahae Carroll. I know my great grandfather deceased at Gallipoli on 10 Dec 1915 as Tuahae Carroll I also know he was a son to his aunt Heni Materoa as his letters to his whangai mother indicate. I also know my koro Toki Carroll, the son of Tuahae Carroll was living with his fathers whangai mother when he was killed at Gallipoli.
