Biography
Clive Kelly was born in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand in 1950. He attended the Wellington School of Visual Communication from 1968–1970 before beginning his long career in Secondary school art teaching in Gisborne in 1975 where he raised his three sons at Makorori beach. In the early 1990’s he was a founding member of the Flying Moas collective with other locally born artists like John Walsh. Kelly's teaching career has also taken him to Christchurch, Rarotonga and Wellington where he has continued to exhibit in all these locations. His works can be found in private collections throughout New Zealand, UK and France. He now lives and works in Wellington where he also conducts art tuition and art based national and international tours.
