Lived on the Poverty Bay Flats at Bushmere.

First schooling at Waerenga-a-Hika School 1926-27.

While staying at Atea Station, Wharekopae in 1927 was the victim of
an attack of poliomylitis.

Pupil at Gisborne Central Primary School 1927-28.

Pupil at Gisborne Central School 1928-33.

Student at Gisborne Boy's High School 1934-36.

Commenced working for Ivon J.Hill,commercial and press photographer 1936-37
including photographer for Gisborne Times and Auckland Weekly News.

Opened own Photographic Studio and Dealer outlet in Peel Street 1937-41

Joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force 1942-45


Opened Photographic Studio in Gladstone Road, Opposite Regent Theatre.
1946-49
Married Rachel Southey Adams, a Nurse, 29th November 1949.


Commenced Aerial Division of Wade Studios, 101 Whitaker Street 1950-58.

Joined the staff of The Department of Health 1958-85

1972 Visited Australia, Sydney and Melbourne to investigate various
types of automatic film processors which may be suitable for the processing of 70mm. Mass .Miniature Radiography films.


1974 Robyn married Matthews Edwards at Gisborne.


1977 Russell married Shona Henderson at Hastings


1979 Visited Samoa in connection with Chest X-Ray service.


1983

Visited Samoa and Kingdom of Tonga re inspection and training
X-Ray services and staff.


1984 Visited Samoa, Nukualofa, Hapai and Vav'au, inspection and training
X Ray services and staff.

1984 Visit to Great Barrier Island with Australian and N.Z.Armies

to assist with health survey of all residents.

Designed and supervised the building of four X-ray units on Bedford
V.A.S.chassis. These were built by Emslie Consolidated ltd. in Dunedin
1985.
Retired from the Health Department on the 25th July after

twenty seven years of service.
