Kahu of traditional design and method made from non-traditional materials. Featuring black, red and neutral toned taniko borders on kauko (sides) in rau kūmara pattern and remu (base edge) in aronui pattern. Kaupapa (body of cloak) adorned with possibly non-native bird feathers (orange, green, black and tan) attached to a hand-sewn backing. Fringe across top edge with plaited red, black and tan wool edging and tie (left hand side tie remains, right hand side lost).
