One piece fish hook. It has a barb, is made from brass coloured stirrup iron. The hook is lashed around the top and attached to a loop of two ply cord. Post-European contact manufacture, found at Whareongaonga.

Worked bowenite (tangiwai) greenstone (pounamu). Possibly intended for an ear pendant. Very translucent. Pointed tip, flat upperedge sides taper down to a pointed tip.

Ta, mallet: Whalebone. The handle is slightly longer than the mallet end. It has a manaia head at the top of the handle. It has a square shaped suspension aperture. The distal end has a slightly angled edge with rounded corners.

Chisel made for use as a carving implement. Metal blade lashed to a bone handle with plaited flax fibre twine, this has been coiled around the handle and the join. The handle has a groove where the blade inserts. The blade is approximately 1 third the length of the handle. The bone is of natural colouration with some darker patches. The handle is cylindrical, rounded at one end and tapers in slightly down the length toward the blade.

Chisel made for use as a carving implement. Steel blade lashed to a bone handle with flax. Similar to a modern chisel. The flax has been coiled around the bone and steel pieces to attach them. The steel blade is broken. The bone handle is natural in colouration with darker flecks. It has a rounded end and has a hexagonal cross section.
