Child's sewing machine: cast iron frame painted black. Hand cranked. The crank handle has a turned wood knob painted white. Stencilled onto both sides of the top arm of the machine in gold (partially obscured and worn) is: "NEW HOME / MIDGET". The bed plate has a chrome surface (rusted) and impressed into a name plate affixed to the front of the bed bed plate is: "LIGHT RUNNING / [outline of a greyhound] NEW HOME / TRADE MARK".

Stencilled onto both sides of the top arm of the machine in gold (partially obscured and worn) is: "NEW HOME / MIDGET".
