Koauau. Bone flute. Shape: cylindrical shell.The original catalogue card states the piece may be made from human bone, moa bone or boar tusk. 2 finger holes. Arrow notched motifs at one end in 2 bands. A stylised face is carved at the other end. The tongue protrudes, the lips are carved with notches as is the brow. There are 2 curved lines at the top of the forehead located at the rim of the flute. Natural bone colouration.
