Greenstone adze/ toki. Kawakawa variety of pounamu. Shaped like a tomahawk or adze-head. The piece is polished. Medium green colouration. Square at the poll end, tapering out to the blade end. The corners at the blade end are slightly rounded. The piece has lighter coloured natural flaws over the surface, mostly on the half of the piece closest to the poll end. There is some light chipping on the blade. The poll end is slightly angled and there is some chipping along the poll edge. There is some natural scarring down the centre of one side, running approximately 7cm down from the poll end.
