Hussif
Description
A fabric bundle which unrolls to reveal buttons, yarn and a place for needles. Hussif's were an essential part of a soldier's toolkit, used to mend their uniforms or sew on badges and other military insignia.
This hussif was used in WW1, and is stamped with the lettering: "THE SOLDIERS SEWING CIRCLE, GISBORNE".
