Crawford took views in the Rotomahana Basin like no other photographer e.g. of the Kaiwaka exit. This looks like a double exposure. It's post-eruption in the top half. the bottom should be taken from SW of the Chasm on the Tarawera Massif. At first I thought it was Lake Okaro but really it's not a lake and is perhaps mist or an artefact.
