Rainbow flag flown outside GDC for Pride Week 2021, the first time a rainbow flag had been flown by Council. Prior to that, in 2019 it was hung in the foyer of Council for Pride Week. In February 2022 it was hung in the inaugural Pride Tairāwhiti exhibition at Tairāwhiti museum.
