Greywacke adze fragment found at Puninga Station, Whareratas, early 1900s by W R Torrie. Collected on Te Kooti's track between Poverty Bay and Ureweras. Wedge shaped remnant. Produced in a late local style according to Marianne Duncan, Auckland University. Polished grey stone with some light pitting. The blade end is damaged with a chunk missing on an angle. There is an angled lineal hairline flaw at the poll end.
