Argillite adze fragment ploughed up in the Wanganui region in 1920s. This is a Duff type 2B or 1A fragment, made of Nelson d'Urville Island argillite. It is finely polished with large flakes missing. Dark black/grey colouration. Some grime in pitted areas. Roughly arch shaped through cross section.
