Basalt adze. Polished at blade end, rougher and lightly pitted at butt. Shaped near butt for hafting. Chipped badly, visible on both sides however the side with the accession number on it is worse. On this side a triangular section is missing halfway along the blade and approximately one-third up from the right hand corner.
