Tahanga basalt adze found in black substratum on back lawn of donor's Wainui Beach house. Dark grey colouration. Assymetrical. Roughly hewn. Flaked. Flat side at poll end. The edge is straight but on a slight angle. The lateral sides go roughly straight down then flare out (approximately one third down on one side and halfway down on the other) toward the blade. The blade is curved (convex).
