Basalt adze. Adze almost five times as long as it is wide. Poll end had broken off completely but this has been mended. The blade is lightly chipped. The adze is polished but the poll end is slightly rougher and more pitted. Some light scratches on surface. The poll edge is rounded. The adze tapers out from the butt to the blade, the lateral edges are quite straight, the blade has a slight curve (convex).
