Suitcase: brown coloured textured leather. Metal frame, central metal button clasp with keyhole (no key) and two outer metal snap catches. Central leather carry handle. Four leather slot straps affixed with metal domes on the outside of the suitcase through which leather straps could be threaded (leather straps absent). Leather name tag attached to carry handle, handwritten on paper in black ink visible in the window of the leather tag is: Mrs Holden / S. S. Takapuna / Napier (crossed out and Gisborne pencilled alongside). There are remnants of travel labels affixed to the exterior of the bag. Ten domed metal feet on base of suitcase.
