Cook landing commemorative dish. Round dish, made oval by handles at each end. Handpainted colour scene of James Cook on a beach, sailors and rowboat at water's edge, ship at sea, land beyond. Wording: "Landing / of / Captain Cook / 6th October / 1769 / New Zealand". On reverse: A souvenir to commemorate Centennial Exhibition NZ. Gilding around rim of dish and detailing on handles.
