Portable writing desk: wood. There is an inlay pattern on the edges of lid which continues onto the front of the desk and along the bottom edge. The pattern is based around a six petalled star shape. There is a hexagonal mother-of-pearl inlay in the centre of the lid and a hexagonal mother-of-pearl escutcheon on the front of the desk. Brass hinges and brass locking components.
