Pencil case. Container for small pencils - Edgar Ross.
Oval shaped metal tube with a chrome lip at one end and at the other end is a dome shaped chrome cap through which a ring is affixed via a hole in the dome. The middle part of the cylinder is wrapped in a white paper label with a plastic coating. Printed on the paper in black ink on one side of the cylinder is: Prescription Chemist / Gisborne; and on the opposite side: With the compliments of / EDGAR ROSS. It possibly once contained a lid, and pencils, but both are absent.
